Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using BookSignal (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). The Service is operated by BookSignal LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Author accounts

As an author, you may upload manuscripts for analysis and listing in the BookSignal catalog. By uploading a manuscript, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the right to license the content you upload.
  • The content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
  • The content does not contain illegal material.

You retain all ownership of your manuscript. You grant BookSignal a limited, non-exclusive license to process, analyze, store, and display your manuscript and its metadata for the purpose of providing the Service.

4. Beta period

BookSignal is currently in beta. During this period, features may change, be discontinued, or be temporarily unavailable. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes that affect their accounts or content.

5. Founding Member benefits

Founding Members receive a free lifetime listing for their first book and a free Book Intelligence Report upon upload. These benefits are tied to the Founding Member account and are non-transferable. “Free lifetime listing” means the first book listed will remain free of monthly listing fees as long as BookSignal offers the service; it does not guarantee perpetual availability of the platform itself.

6. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Upload content you do not have the right to distribute.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service.
  • Use the Service to spam or harass other users.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
  • Circumvent any security or access controls.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BOOKSIGNAL LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BOOKSIGNAL LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of law principles.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
