Tropical Doubts

Pancho McMartin, Honolulu’s top criminal defense attorney, reluctantly agrees to step out of his comfort zone by handling a potentially huge medical malpractice case on behalf of his old friend and father-figure, Manny Delacruz, whose wife is in a permanent vegetative state following multiple mistakes in what should have been a routine surgery. But when Manny is arrested for the murder of one of the responsible doctors, not only is the medical malpractice case now in jeopardy, so is Manny’s freedom. If Manny is convicted, it means he won’t be able to be at his wife’s bedside to hold her hand, caress her face, and read his poems to her. He will have lost his reason to live. The pressure on Pancho is enormous.
